This Kerrang! Contents page fits in with the theme of the magazine mainly because of the images used. The images are all relevant to the text, and show well who the article on the specific page is actually about as a quicker reference than reading the caption. The main image is in the top left, and is noticeably the biggest and most eye catching image on the contents page. This shows that he is obviously the star of this issue, and he is bigger than everyone else.
The taglines are all in yellow, on a black background. These colours contrast well and really bring out the words making it easier to read. The rest of the text is all black, and in an easy to read font. The black colour of the font goes well with the style of music the magazine is all about. The text next to the biggest image is white, bringing it out more as the background is black. This makes it more noticeable.
The layout of the page is slightly messy as there are images and text everywhere. This can fit in with the theme of the style of music. There are 4 columns used, 3 of which are used on images and the fourth is used for smaller things in the magazine. In the top left of the page there is a small message from the editor of the magazine. This gives it that personal touch as if they are talking directly to you and no one else.

  1. Too muc description and not enough analysis Josh. What analysis there is tends to be fairly basic eg ' the font goes well.' Try to step up the depth and incisiveness of your analysis and comment for A-level. Using media terminology will help to get you started. good luck

  2. I'm concerned you've fallen behind with your postings. Make sure they are up to date by Thursday or you may lose marks for the planning and organisation part of the coursework.
